Heavenly spots in the Amalfi Coast

There are so many reasons not to miss the hundred beaches which are in the Amalfi Coast and offer a delightful cross-section of one of the most beautiful areas in the Mediterranean.

Among these, fifty- four are small (even less than fifty metres wide) and forty are reachable only by sea. All of them, nevertheless, offer particular suggestions and emotions apart from the fact that they offer comforts and services which can make tourists’ or bathers’ visits even more comfortable.

To them, Roberto Pellecchia has recently dedicated an interesting guidebook entitled “The One Hundred Beaches of the Amalfi Coast from Vietri sul Mare to Punta Campanella” (edited by CART&GUIDE).

Thanks to this guidebook, it is possible to equip oneself – and also turn oneself into a sort of “Indiana Jones” – to discover some of the heavenly spots offered both by the Sorrento Coast (on the side overlooking the Gulf of Salerno), and by the real Amalfi Coast (on the stretch of coast between Positano and Vietri sul Mare).

Twenty-eight maps – up-to-date thanks to the use of satellite shots- 250 pictures and so many useful information, make this booklet not only interesting, but also very useful to be able to plan cleverly strolls, excursions, baths and amusements.

The guidebook, in fact, besides offering synthetic but accurate cards on coast villages, presents studies in depth for each of the considered shores,  specifying if  they are beaches reachable only by sea or also by land (and in this last case, which roads or paths to follow to get to the destination), where to park and the possible presence of bathing establishments.

For these ones, moreover, services (hiring of sun-beds and sun-umbrellas, showers, changing rooms, bars and restaurants) are specified, “in order to suggest – as the author says – a rational fruition of the bathing possibilities for one’s own tastes and needs”.

The publication is divided basically into four sections, which consider respectively the beaches present on the stretch of coast between Vietri sul Mare and Cetara; those which can be visited between Cetara and Amalfi; those which can be admired among Amalfi and Positano and those, at last, which can be reached in the stretch between Positano and Punta Campanella.

Easy to be read, the guidebook, even if always immediate and simple in its language, contains also some toponymic explanations and historical hints which, though lapidary, are equally precious and interesting.

Available in three different versions (Italian, English and German), its publication does not indicate prices and telephone numbers, because the former ones are subject to too many frequent changes, whilst the latter ones can be easily found in the Internet or in  telephone directories.

Thanks to the many hints, to the so many news and information contained in this book, it is not difficult to plan unusual excursions and almost exclusive sea baths.
